'Monas' joins Chris Hicks in making the switch from beaten NRL Grand finalists Manly to Warrington. Monaghan was the starting scrum half for Manly before the arrival of Matt Orford at Brookvale, then switching to hooker and was one of the top performers during the 2007 NRL season.

Monaghan will be a welcome edition to the Warrington half back partnership pairing, many fans seeing him as the replacement to Nat Wood, something they have been looking for since Nat left in 2005. Monaghan is a play maker and his ability to switch to hooker will allow the Wolves to have the key positions (6, 7, 9 and 13) filled by truly skilled and "clever" players.
