Possibly one of the most promising products of the Saints youth structure in recent years, Roby is the defending Man of Steel, awarded to the hooker despite complaints from a number of people that the award should have gone to Wigan's Trent Barrett. The fact that most complaints came from the JJB stadium will mean that Roby will enjoy his stature as the best player in the league a little bit more.
A former Blackbrook junior, Roby has steadily established himself as a replacement for the ageing Keiron Cunningham and, in some ways, has already surpassed the legendary hooker. The youngest ever winner of the Man of Steel award will be looking to improve beyond anyone's expectations in 2008 as he looks to take over from Cunningham full time.
