Rugby League Coach
Welcome to the Last Tackle Rugby League Coach game. RLC is a rugby league management simulation that is run via a combination of email and online play.

Users take control of any available team and are responsible for all aspects of their club - player transfers, team tactics and strategy, squad line ups, finances including the salary cap, physio and medical treatment, youth development and scouting, and the media elements of your club.

You can find the forum for RLC here
Players & Squadlists
All player skill ratings and positions are updated at the start of each RLC season based on player’s real life performances.

There are hundreds of players in the database so it is impossible to rate them all to everyone's satisfaction. Your opinions may well differ to that of our researchers! We do welcome your opinions however and when reviewing ratings and positions we will seek the opinion of our coaches.

It is up to you as coach to get the best out of your players, employing a style that will suit them.

Positions

Each player in RLC is assigned one of ten possible positions. In addition to being able to play in his specified position a player will normally be able to cover two other positions equally effectively.

1 - fullback (wing & fullback)
2 - winger (fullback & centre)
3 - centre (wing & second row)
6 - stand off (fullback & loose forward)
7 - scrum half (stand off & hooker)
8 - prop (second row)
9 - hooker (scrum half & loose forward)
11 - second row (centre & prop)
13 - loose forward (stand off & hooker)
99 - utility (all positions)

Ratings

Each player in RLC is assigned five attributes (rated between 1 and 10) at the outset of the game, those ratings are:

Att. (How effective the player is in attack)
Def. (How effective the player is in defence)
Kick. (How effective the player is when kicking in general play)
GKick. (How effective the player is at kicking goals)
Temp. (Determines the players temperament)

It is vital that you understand that a players rating will be reviewed before the start of a new season in line with his real life performances. Your own knowledge of the rugby league world may be useful when negotiating transfers and deciding which players to retain.

In addition the simulator also generates a rating for a player’s current form. All players start out at 100 but your results and the player’s individual performances will affect this figure.

Form Guides

A club's squadlist, or formguide, lists all the club's current playing staff, skill ratings, current form, health status and statistics.

The data for each player is broken down into several, which are clearly headed. These are as follows:

Player name
Player position
Attack skill rating - determines how effective the player is in attacking positions
Defence skill rating - determines how effective the player is in defensive positions
Kicking skill rating - determines how effective the player is at kicking in general play
Goal kicking skill rating - determines how effective the player is at landing conversions and penalties
Temperament rating - determined how effective a leader a player may be and also how disciplined he is on the field
Form - the players current form (-90 - poor, 100 - good, 110+ - excellent)
Health - the players current fitness level (0 - fully fit, 1 - has an injury but can play, 2+ - unavailable due to injury)
