Wildcat Moore ruled out for season
Wakefield prop Richard Moore will miss the entire 2009 esason after being diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
The 27-year-old has lost a considerable amount of weight over the close season and the Wildcats have moved to end speculation over the players fitness.
The club said: “Although a very serious illness, Richard and the club view this diagnosis in a very positive manner as it now means medication can be used to bring the condition under control.
“Once this treatment has been carried out Richard can once again recommence his Super League career at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.”
Crohn’s disease is a chronic condition which causes stomach pains, diarrhoea and weight loss and typically affects the intestines.
Moore has previously played for Leigh, London and Bradford, and was subject to interest from Wigan Warriors in the close season.
