Wakefield Wildcats have today confirmed the re-signings of Matt Blaymire, Sean Gleeson and Aaron Murphy.

Matt Blaymire has agreed a two year extension to his contract keeping him at the club until the end of 2009.

Blaymire, 25 joined the Wildcats ahead of the 2007 season from York City Knights and has taken his opportunity in the full-back role with both hands, featuring in all but three games so far this season and scoring nine tries.

Unfortunately, he broke his ribs recently, which will rule him out for the rest of the season but he will be a key player again next year for the Wildcats.

Sean Gleeson arrived at Belle Vue mid-way through 2007 from Wigan Warriors until the end of the current season. He has made five appearances so far and has earned a one year extension to his contract, while Aaron Murphy has been handed a two year deal.

Murphy progressed through the Wildcats academy set-up and made his debut for the first team this year in the Challenge Cup victory over London Skolars, scoring a try in the process.

The re-signings come as Wakefield approach the final three games of the season and although there is still all to play for this year, with the play-offs in the eyes’ of John Kear’s men, the Wildcats are showing encouraging signs for 2008.
