Danny Heaton (hand) and Lee Wingfield (hand) are both available for selection in Sunday’s Northern Rail Cup clash, Swinton coach Paul Smith has confirmed.

Richie Hawkyard is also expected to play despite picking up a minor knock during the Lions’ pre-season friendly at Featherstone.

Smith said: “We’ve done pre-season, had a couple of friendlies and everyone’s looking forward to getting out there.

“Doncaster came down a division last year so they’ve probably got a few players that have played at a higher level.

“There will also be a few new players there that will be trying to impress, so we know we’ve got a game on our hands.”

Shaun Leaf could feature for Tony Miller’s Doncaster side after returning from his spell in rugby union, while skipper Craig Lawton is also confident of taking part.

The forward has been struggling with a knee injury but is hopeful he can complete his recovery over the next few days.
