Crusaders' Wrexham debut set for sell out

Crusaders' Wrexham debut set for sell out

Crusaders opening game with Leeds at the Racecourse Ground is all set to sell out, in the largest Welsh rugby league crowd since 1995.

There has been a huge response to tickets for the first game since the club moved to Wrexham, and people are now being advise not to phone the club to order tickets, but to do so via the club's website, www.crusadersrfl.com.

With just over 24 hours before Brian Noble’s new-look team kick off the first game at their new home, fewer than 300 tickets remain for the eagerly-anticipated clash.

“We’re delighted by the demand for tickets and are urging anyone who still hasn’t bought theirs to contact the Ticket Office as soon as they can from 9am on Friday morning,” said Crusaders RL’s Chief Executive Mike Turner.

“The phones haven’t stopped ringing for weeks and the interest in the game in both Wrexham and across North Wales has been fantastic.

“We have had lots of interest about season tickets and are confident of converting that interest into sales once we get the tickets.

“Pre-orders for replicas of the new kit, which should be with us within the next two weeks, are at levels we haven’t seen before.

“The last few weeks have been hectic for everyone but we all know the hard work doesn’t stop here – these are early days in this new chapter of Crusaders RL and we are determined to do all we can to make the move to Wrexham a long-term success.”

The last game to sell out in Wales was Wales v Western Samoa in the 1995 World Cup at the Vetch Field in Swansea where 15,385 packed in to watch Wales win 22-10 in a game regarding as an all-time classic. Tomorrow's crowd will the largest rugby league crowd in Wales, outside of the Millennium Stadium, since then.
