Celtic face visa investigation
The UK Borders Agency is to investigate Celtic Crusaders over irregularities in players' visas.
The Crusaders could be charged with immigration offences after visas used to bring overseas players to the club may be found to be insufficient.
All of the club's overseas players will have their visas inspected - prior to the start of the season, Celtic had trouble getting 8 of their 27-man squad work permits ahead of their opening game against Leeds, and they were only obtained in the days leading up to their Super League debut.
A UK Border Agency spokesman said: "While the investigation is under way it would be inappropriate to comment."
Two of the players on visas are Tony Duggan and Damien Quinn, who yesterday revealed they are leaving the club at the end of the season.
