Les Chanticleers announce World Cup squad

France has named a preliminary 40-man squad ahead of this autumn's World Cup, with twenty players coming from Super League high-flyers Catalans Dragons.
Having qualified through the three-year residency rule, three-quarters Justin Murphy and John Wilson are included in the twenty-man contingent, as well as Élite Championship overseas players James Wynne, Jared Taylor (both Lézignan) and Trent Clayton (Toulouse).
The other Super League-based players in the squad are Eric Anselme (Leeds and Albi) and Julien Rinaldi (Harlequins). From the Élite Championship, Toulouse and champions Lézignan are the best represented sides, with five and three players called up respectively.
France open their World Cup campaign at Canberra Stadium against Scotland on the 26th October, before facing Fiji at Wollongong on the 1st November.
