France 46-16 Scotland
France scored ten tries in Perpignan to inflict a 46-16 win on a Scotland side which had six debutants in its line-up.
Scotland coach Steve McCormack decided to rest several of his side’s top players ahead of next week’s World Cup Qualifier
The French led 18-0 after just 15 minutes thanks to tries from captain Julien Rinaldi, Cyril Stacul and Sebastien Planas.
Jamie Benn touched down in reply for Scotland but further tries from Sylvain Houles and Eric Anselme gave France a commanding 30-4 lead at the half-time interval.
Mick Nanyn got Scotland on the scoresheet after the restart with an outstanding 50m effort before Lee Patterson added the Scots’ third try, Nanyn converting both to make the score 30-16.
But France finished off the game in the ascendency with tries from Thomas Bosc, Maxime Greseque and Christophe Moly rounding off a comprehensive win.
