Wakefield Captain Jason Demetriou has committed his future to the Wildcats by agreeing a two year extension to his contract.
In his fifth year at Belle Vue, Demetriou has been an integral part of the set-up here and has been rewarded with the team captaincy in 2005, 2007 and 2008 and was club captain in 2006.
After suffering from what looked like a potential career threatening neck injury earlier on in the season, JD has bounced back, making his comeback in the Huddersfield game in round 17 at Belle Vue and scoring on his return.
The 32 year old has made over 160 appearances for the club scoring 56 tries along the way and Head Coach John Kear is delighted to have secured his signature for the next two seasons:
“I’m very pleased Jason has agreed the deal and it further cements the squad’s stability for the next couple of years.
“Jason is a very important member of our leadership team and an integral part of our quest for success.”
