Super League licence applicants Featherstone Rovers have parted company with coach David Hobbs.
Rovers, who applied for a licence but have openly admitted they have no chance of earning one for 2009, find themselves in 9th place in National League 1 after 10 games.
Hobbs, who guided Featherstone to promotion from National League 2 last season, leaves after Sunday's defeat against Leigh.
Rovers chief executive Andy Prout said: "Dave has been and remains a consummate professional on and off the field and I hope that he remains a friend of the club in the future.
"Dave has made a huge contribution to the success of the club as a player. Unfortunately, only three wins in National League One this season has put us in a precarious position towards the bottom of the table."
Danny Evans has taken over as caretaker-coach until a full time replacement is named.
Hobbs is the fifth coaching casualty of the National League campaign this season, following Paul Crarey (Whitehaven), Andy Kelly (Dewsbury), Darren Shaw (Leigh) and Bobbie Goulding (Rochdale) out the door.
