Four tries in the last ten minutes saw Wakefield snatch a crucial away victory at out of form Hull KR.
It consolidates the Wildcats position in the top 6, putting them 4th, while it leaves Hull KR three points adrift of the play-off spots.
In a tight first half, Damien Blanch gave Wakefield the lead in the 18th minute, before Clint Newton's converted try on the half hour mark gave the home side a 6-4 half time advantage.
The game remained close in the second half, with Mick Vella crossing on 54 minutes, before Peter Fox's try was converted by Paul Cooke just after the hour mark to give Hull KR a solid 18-4 lead.
A Brad Drew try on 70 minutes started hopes of a comeback from the visitors, and Danny Brough's conversion reduced the deficit to 8 points.
Then Ryan Atkins and Jamie Rooney crossed within two minutes of each other to turn the game on its head.
Brough added the extras to Rooney's score to edge the Wildcats in front by 20 points to 18.
And as Hull KR tried to get back in to the game, Drew's second try sealed the two points for the visitors.
