Challenge Cup fever today hit Wakefield as the semi-final tickets for the clash against Hull FC went on sale to season ticket holders.
Doors opened at 9am at Belle Vue and in the first two hours, sales reached the £20,000 mark with all £25 tickets for the centre line selling out and £20 tickets (wing) nearly gone.
A Wakefield spokesman said: "When sales have calmed down this afternoon we will be able to work out how many tickets have been sold exactly.
"We have however fully sold out our allocation on the centre line and will not be receiving any more."
With an initial allocation of 3000 tickets, the club have requested more from the RFL which will be collected this afternoon.
The Superstore will be open Monday-Wednesday 9am-7pm to accommodate the huge demand and tickets will go on general sale next Monday.
