Gateshead Thunder earned a club record seventh straight win against Keighley Cougars yesterday, whilst centre Kevin Neighbour notched his 50th try in the club.
Thunder, who have had a turbulent time in their short history, are four points clear at the top of National League 2 having won 10 of 11 games played. Their only defeat this season has come at home to second placed Barrow, and their only loss away from home this season came in the Northern Rail Cup against National League 1 side Featherstone.
Neighbour is a local lad who returned to the club after spending 2007 Down Under with Shellharbour Marlins in Australia, and scored his 50th try for Thunder in their impressive 58-14 victory over Keighley at the Gateshead International Stadium on Sunday.
