A strong second half from Warrington secured the points in their first game since the departure of former coach Paul Cullen.
In sweltering conditions, defences suffered as both teams flung the ball wide in order to find gaps.
The visiting Wolves opened the scoring after Clarke’s break was rounded off by Riley and they looked to be running away with it after Louis Anderson rounded off a superb 80 metre passing move to give the visitors a dominant 12-0 lead.
The game was turned on its head, however, as Harlequins roared back before the break, with tries from Clubb and Worrincy levelling the game at half-time.
The heat looked to be taking its toll on the Quins as Warrington came out all guns blazing to seize a firm grip on the game, Hicks kicking a penalty before Monaghan strolled through a huge gap in the defence.
Warrington had all the possession and they deservedly extended their lead through Matt King and when Jon Clarke added another, the game looked over.
Harlequins had other ideas and they began an improbable comeback when Haggarty scored a great try to inject life into the game as the home side eventually managed an attack in the second half.
When Henry Paul released Ricky Sheriffe, who sprinted in to score, the game had turned again however, when Danny Orr broke through moments after, he opted to kick instead of using the support, wasting a great chance to reduce the deficit to 6 points.
This seemed to kill the momentum and Warrington were able to hold on and round the game off with a late score from Riley to give them a priceless win.
