St Helens Council has signed and sent the plans for St Helens' new 18,000 all-seater stadium.
The council yesterday signed all the necessary documentation, and sent the completed plans to Government office.
This follows extensive talks between the council and Bootle's Health and Safety Executive regarding the 46-acre site, formerly owned by United Glassworks.
The whole process received a great boost when it was announced that a risk assessment for the neighbouring Jackson Street gas-holder wasn't needed.
The gas-holder is situated outside the new ground's consultation zone, so a risk assessment didn't need to be carried out.
The stadium first obtained council approval on May 20, with the ground costing £25m to build.
