Castleford Tigers have tonight announced the widely speculated signing of Newcastle Knights' prop Mitchell Sargent.
Former Melbourne Storm and North Queensland Cowboys' player Sargent will formally join his new side once he has obtained his work permit.
Sargent has missed out on the first team so far this season, however has been recovering from injury.
Coach Terry Matterson was understandably pleased with his side's new recruit, after obtaining someone with the pedigree and class of the NRL competition.
“I know Mitchell having coached him at Melbourne Storm and he will bring plenty to our squad.
"He is a big mobile forward with plenty of experience and I’m really pleased to have him on board.
"He is an aggressive forward but he also has plenty of skill and I’m looking forward to him joining up with us.”
Sargent did however, fail an in-house drugs test where he tested positive for cocaine.
