France rugby union coach Dave Ellis has expressed his interest in the vacant Head Coach position at Huddersfield.
Ellis, 51, coached at Paris St Germain during their Super League days in the mid 1990s, and during his playing career played for Castleford, Keighley, Doncaster and Batley.
"Rugby union has been a constant for me for in recent years but I've certainly kept my hand in when it comes to league," Ellis told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
"I'm well qualified in terms of coaching certificates, I see a lot of matches, both in person and on television, and I'd certainly fancy coaching in Super League.
"There's bags of potential at Huddersfield, they've come on in leaps and bounds during the Super League era and the challenge of taking them on further would be very appealing."
Giants Chairman Ken Davy says the club has received a number of enquiries over the post, which became available on Monday when Jon Sharp was sacked after five years in charge.
"Within an hour of the news Jon had left we had expressions of interest from several people from here and in Australia," Davy told BBC Radio Leeds.
"We shouldn't be amazed by the interest as we have a great infrastructure, squad and facilities."
