Sharp contract terminated by Giants

Sharp has been in charge at the Galpharm Stadium for five years, and guided them to the Challenge Cup Final in 2006.
Chairman Ken Davy said: “Under Jon Sharp the Giants reached the Challenge Cup Final two years ago and last year after losing their first seven matches achieved a top six finish. Unfortunately our results and performances this year have proved a major disappointment for everyone including Jon.”
“The process of appointing a new coach will begin shortly and in the meantime Paul Anderson and Kieron Purtill will take temporary charge of the Huddersfield Giants squad.”
