Catalans centre Adam Mogg has rejected approaches from a number of clubs to sign a new three year deal with the French club.
Mogg, 31, had attracted interest from other Super League clubs, as well as a handful of NRL and rugby union clubs.
The Australian will now remain at the club until the end of the 2011 season.
Mogg said: “I’m delighted to have taken this decision. I’m very happy in Perpignan since two years and I look forward to improve with the Catalans Dragons in the three next years.”
Christophe Levy said it was a major announcement for the club.
“Adam is arguably our best player and has been courted by many English Super League club as well as French rugby union. It is great that he stays in the game and even better with us. Adam has been very happy since his arrival to Catalans in 2007 and he did not want to leave the club now. It is great news for the fans, sponsors and young French players coming trough to have such a quality player involved at the club.”
Outgoing coach Mick Potter added: “Adam has been a dominant player for the Catalan for the last one year and half. It is great for the club to secure his service for the next 3 years as he has always lead by example.”
