Wakefield Trinity Wildcats made a relatively comfortable passage to the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi finals despite an early fright from Oldham.
The Wildcats defeated their Co-operative National League Two opponents 46-4 at Belle Vue to join Leeds, Hull and St Helens in the next round.
Oldham gave a creditable performance, taking the lead through Lucas Onyango after just nine minutes and hanging onto it until after the 20-minute mark.
But Sean Gleeson crossed to draw level at 4-4 and the engage Super League side took an 8-4 lead when Damien Blanch touched down a few moments later.
Oliver Wilkes added a third try and Gleeson completed a brace for himself a minute before the half-time interval, Danny Brough converting both.
Wakefield dominated the second half with a brace of tries from Jamie Rooney and further scores from Brad Drew, Brough and Tony Martin, Brough adding a further three goals.
