Brisbane Broncos half back Darren Lockyer has withdrawn from this week's Centenary Test Match against New Zealand.
The Australian captain has been sidelined with persisting soreness in his knee, following surgery earlier on in the year.
Lockyer has decided to continue to have treatment, reduce his workload and undertake an elective arthroscopy sometime in the next 10 days.
A Broncos spokesman said: "His return to full activity is still at this stage unclear. However, every effort is being made to encourage the natural healing process."
Australia face New Zealand on May 9th.
