Following negotiations over the last five months a second series of Code X111 ‘Grassroots’ returns to the television screens from Tuesday 30th October on Manchester based television company Channel m.

The series will feature action from BARLA sides from the North West Counties Youth and Juniors Leagues, Halifax Home Insurance National Youth League, National Conference League and North West Counties League as well as Student Rugby League as well as special features from the amateur game.

The series will consist of eleven fortnightly one hour programmes and a May ‘Special’ which will be shown eight times over that period. They will broadcast each week on Tuesday evening at 10.00pm, Wednesday 12 midday, Saturday morning 10.00am and on Sunday afternoon 2-00pm.

The second series also has a sponsor on board internet based fund raising shop online company ibelonguk.com. With over a thousand online retail company’s shopper’s individual members, IBELONGuk is there to provide you personally with the opportunity to benefit from all your on-line shopping. You can also help your favourite club group or organisation along the way, at no extra cost to you to the customer.

The series will once again be made and produced by Alpha Photograpy of Milnrow with presenter Steve Manning providing commentary and analysis.

BARLA Chair Spen Allison: “I would like to thank Manchester based television company Channel m for the opportunity to showcase the talents of the Community Game and to let viewers become aware of the stars of tomorrow and efforts put in by the players, coaches and volunteers within the amateur game. I have no doubt that the show will be a success and viewers will see were it all begins at grassroots level.”

Andy Huszar, Alpha Photography: “I am really excited about the series and although it is hard work if we can encourage youngsters to take up the game and eventually wear a Great Britain shirt then I will in a small part have done my job. We will be going filming anything related to rugby league at grassroots level and will also be including special features about personalities within the great game.”

Brian Hewitt sponsors IBELONGUK: “We are delighted to be associated with Code X111 ‘Grassroots’ which covers the whole of the community men, women, boys and girls and children playing rugby league and volunteers involved in the game. Our involvement can also see organisations and clubs benefit from the company should they wish to do so.”

Channel m is available through your existing TV aerial in Greater Manchester on freeview, and you can also view channel m if you have Sky - on channel 203 - or can access Virgin media digital cable TV on channel 878.
