A product of the Leeds academy, Smith is ordinarily a full back, although with the arrival of Brent Webb, he was moved out onto the wing and has excelled ever since. An excellent prospect for the future, Smith is excellent defensively at both 1 and 5.
Smith has made 4 appearances for England as they played second fiddle to Great Britain, but has yet to represent at the top level of international rugby. Surely a defensive alternative to Kevin Penny in future England squads, Smith will be looking to improve once again for the Rhinos.
