One of the best back rowers in rugby league, Ellis has certainly improved his game immensely since making the move from local rivals Wakefield in 2004. Since moving to Headingley, Ellis has always been one of the favourites in the race for the coveted Man of Steel award each year.
A powerful runner and strong tackler, Ellis is not afraid the break the line and going the other way, is certainly not afraid to stop his opposition doing the same. An almost ever-present in a Great Britain shirt since the 2006 tri-nations series, Ellis is all but guaranteed a spot in the 2008 England World Cup squad.
