Uncertainty hangs over the Leeds career of Thackray after Leeds gave him permission to look for another club. Thackray has been linked to a number of off the field incidents in recent years and his attitude is said to be below the standard of a professional rugby league player.

A well travelled prop, there is certainly no doubting Thackray's ability on the field, a big hitting forward with a powerful tackle and the ability to break through the toughest of defences, he should be adding to his single Great Britain cap. Whether his future really does lie away from Headingley is sure to spark much discussion until he comes to a decision.
