Gibson burst onto the scene in 2005, scoring a hat-trick on his debut in a record win away at Leigh. Gibson is also a kicker, which helped him to become the second highest points scorer on his debut in the same game. A former academy grand final winner, Gibson is no stranger to silverware and will be wanting to add to that this year.

Ordinarily a centre, Gibson is an adequate replacement on the wing and has even represented the England national side as a hooker. 2007 was ravaged by injury for the young Stanningley junior, although he will be hoping to impress as a future replacement for the ageing Keith Senior
