Gareth joined the club in 2001, and has played a pivotal role in Hull's success to date. His ability to rough up the defence on the charge, and throw in some huge hits in defence has proved critical to the black and whites in recent season's and they'll be more to come from the big guy in 2008.

NRL newspaper collumist Phil Gould once referred to him as Gareth Gravel, and because of that, his nickname 'Pebbles' arose. He has also gone onto represent both Wales and Great Britain, and providing he can stay injury free in 2008; he should figure in Tony Smith's plans in next year's rugby league World Cup.
