Richard already has a handful of awards and match experience to his name. In 2003 he was voted the National League 1 player of the year and following his arrival into the Super League with Hull, he was then voted the young player of the year in 2004. He also played a major part in the 2005 Challenge Cup and 2006 Super League Grand Finals.

During 2007, Richard played the majority of his rugby in the centres, inter-changing with Hull youngster Craig Hall, and although he has a brilliant work ethic and tough defending stance, some question his pace out wide. This is a minor issue which Richard himself has addressed, and because of which; he is aiming to make his stake in the back row in 2008. He's tall, he's powerful and he's intelligent. Could 2008 be his best year yet?
