Yorkshire born winger Sheriffe was thankful to Harlequins for rescuing him in 2007 after Doncaster Lakers went in to administration, leaving Sheriffe in the lurch. It saw the 23 year old return to London for a second time, after scoring two tries in four games in his first spell. He was given more game time in 2007, scoring 6 tries in 10 games, earning him the number 5 jersey for 2008.

He started his career at Huddersfield, but was sent on loan to Halifax making 57 appearances, before a loan move to York brought 3 tries in 4 games. He was named in the NL1 Dream Team in 2004, and he scored 28 tries in 28 games the following season also for Halifax. He suffered a serious injury in 2006, ruling him out for much of the season, before his ill-fated move to Doncaster.
