Transfer Gossip 6

The business end of the season is drawing closer, and with it more speculation about players' futures.

Richie Myler, Salford to Warrington
Warrington are set to launch a £300,000 raid on Salford for star scrum half Richard Myler. The Wolves, who won a place in the Challenge Cup Final with a win at Wigan over the weekend, will use the cash windfall of their Wembley trip to fund a deal for the country's hottest prospect. Myler, 19, has been a revelation in his debut season in Super League and notched a record-breaking haul for England in the mid-season international against France.

Ashley Gibson, Leeds to Castleford
Leeds youngster Ashley Gibson is set to move to Castleford for 2010 after the Rhinos confirmed his exit from Headingley. Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington confirmed the former Stanningley amateur has been given permission to speak to other clubs. "Ashley was offered a contract extension and he decided against taking that, which is entirely his right," Hetherington said. "He thought long and hard about it and decided he needed to keep his options open, therefore that offer has come off the table. "We have now given him permission to speak to other clubs and indeed he is doing so."

Mark Flanagan, Wigan to NRL

Mark Flanagan plans to try his luck in Australia's NRL at the end of this season. Wigan are resigned to losing the exciting young loose forward, one of their best performers in last week's Challenge Cup semifinal defeat by Warrington. Two first grade sides have already shown interest in the 21-year-old Oldham-born former Bradford Academy prospect. Dad Terry, an ex-GB international, said: "The NRL will make him a stronger, bigger and better player for when he comes back to the UK. His agent already has a couple of offers on the table." Brett Kearney, Cronulla to Bradford

Kearney has agreed to join the Bulls in 2010 despite interest from Celtic and Wigan. The 25-year-old has played for Cronulla since 2006, and has previously played for South Sydney. He said: "I've all but signed for the Bulls. IO'm pretty excited about it, because I've been looking for a change. The Bulls might not have had the best of seasons, but I like the look of their playing roster and I think they're a team that can go places. It will be great to line up alongside a legend like Steve Menzies." (Source: League Express)

Luke Branighan, Gateshead to Whitehaven
Ged Stokes is plotting a second successive winter raid on Gateshead. Last year he signed star Thunder half back Dan Russell, although the deal fell through when Russell was denied a visa. However, Stokes is hopeful he can lure Branighan to the Recre as he looks to replace Huddersfield bound Gregg McNally. Branighan has also been linked with a shock move to St Helens, after impressing Saints boss Mick Potter in Thunder's Challenge Cup loss to the holders in June.
