Transfer Gossip

We've already seen the announcements of Lee Gilmour's move to Huddersfield and Jay Pitts swapping Wakefield for Leeds, but let's see what else is in the pipeline.

Gavin Henson - rugby union to Celtic
It seems that someone has put two and two together and made five with the rumours that Wales rugby union star Gavin Henson could be on his way to Celtic. He was quoted as saying he was considering retiring from the 15-man code following a spate of injuries, and he is known to be a regular at Brewery Field. The Crusaders said they wouldn't mind having Henson (who wouldn't), but it looks unlikely after Ospreys rubbished the retirement rumours.

Chris Thorman - Hull to Bradford
The former Huddersfield, London and Parramatta half-back has had a tough debut season at the KC Stadium and with the scheduled arrival of Sean Long, and possibly Jamie Rooney, Thorman may find his options limited at Hull next season. Bradford are looking to shake up their squad after a disappointing season, and Thorman could slot in at full back or in the halves for the Bulls.

Brad Drew - Wakefield to Castleford
Castleford are being linked with a move for former Huddersfield hooker Brad Drew. Drew, 33, joined the Wildcats for the 2008 season but will find first team chances hindered by the arrival of Terry Newton at Belle Vue next season. With Sam Obst and Tevita Leo-Latu at the club, Drew could move on, with The Jungle a likely destination. Castleford are also being linked with Drew's team mate Tony Martin.

Lote Tuqiri - rugby union to Parramatta
Disgraced Australian rugby union international is attracting the attention of NRL club Parramatta. The Eels, though, will have to compete for Tuqiri's signature with the Gold Coast Titans, who have opened the door for the former Bronco to return to the sunny climes of Queensland. "We'd be mad not to talk to him - Lote is a marquee player and we need an outside back," said new Eels football club director Brett Kenny. "Lote is quality, who would also help us with attendances, marketing and merchandise." (Source: Herald Sun)

Luke Branighan - Gateshead to Leigh
New Leigh boss Ian Millward is lining up Gateshead scrum half Luke Branighan as his first signing for 2010. Leigh are currently stuck in a relegation battle with Thunder, but they are keen on the Australian who tore them apart at Leigh Sports Village just a few weeks ago. Branighan has played in the NRL for Cronulla and St George, before signing for Gateshead in the close season.
