Guttenbeil has become a model professional for young people wanting to play in the game, after he honoured his original Super League contract despite the Tigers relegation in 2006. The former New Zealand international joined the club on a player and part-time Assistant coaching role, and was particularly integral in the Grand Final defeat of Widnes. Previous clubs include Manly Sea Eagles and the New Zealand Warriors.
